About Anne Rae
Having experienced different types of therapy over my adult life, I was drawn to the Gestalt (Person-centred) approach when choosing my training. This type of therapy means that rather than analysing or interpreting what you say, I focus on creating a unique relationship with each client in which self-awareness is built, and behaviours are explored with a view to seeing if they still serve.
I believe that there are always good reasons for why we behave as we do and that when the time is right, we may choose to update the ways in which we live. Therapy provides a space to consider what is working and not working and to look at other ways of being. You are in charge of what you decide to change or not change.
I have moved through different careers from Sales and HR leadership in large organisations to Teaching, Coaching and now Therapy. I understand what it is like to be under pressure and to feel overwhelmed. I became increasingly motivated to help others understand themselves better, to be able to make choices which align with their authentic selves, and which bring greater peace and fulfilment.
I have experience of many different life stages and transitions both personally and from working with my clients.
I am a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psycotherapy). My training is Person-centred and is accredited with the BACP. I am trauma informed.
